Jacob turns 7 - July 18, 2015
On Saturday July 18, 2015 we celebrated grandson Sol's seventh birthday. All three son's, all the grandkids and Susie and I were there. It was a great party!

Walk in Sierra Azul - Feb. 15, 2015
On Feb. 15, 2015 it was an amazingly warm day. Susie and I drove to the top of Hicks and went for a walk along the Woods Trail, enjoying the amazing light.

Today we went to Serena's Graduation Party is Sacramento. It was great fun celebrating with her and Hunter and meeting Serena and Hunter's Family. Of course any visit to Sacramento has to include a chocolate break in Lathrop on the way home!

The last General Council - October 9-11, 2015
On October 9-11, 2015 I was in Sacramento for the last General Council Convention our union will likely ever have. It was great to be there and see old friends. This was the 67th California State Employees General Council.

On Thursday, October 8, 2015, I went to Apple Hill. I met my friend Diana (who lives in the area) and we went together. It was a great afternoon at one of my favorite places on earth.

The most beautiful Titanium bike ever made.
Merlin Cyrene: This is an amazing Merlin! An immaculate (& rare) Dura-Ace Triple. This bike is no longer made! The Merlin Cyrene has been called the most beautiful Titanium bike ever made. It features exquisite floral laser-engraving patterns on its 3/2.5 titanium tubes. Because the engraving process removes some material, Merlin used tubes for the Cyrene that are not quite as thin-walled as those of the Merlin Extralight. The Cyrene is therefore renowned for its classic beauty rather than being an especially lightweight frame. And beautiful it is!

Day in San Francisco - July 28, 2015
"The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." This may be coolest thing Mark Twain never said. But on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 the city was anything but cool. It was warm enough for sun bathers to catch rays at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. My friend Diana and I had a fun day in the city seeing the sights.

Day in Concord, CA - July 23, 2015
On Thursday, July 23, 2015 my friend Amy and I went to Concord. In 2000, I bought my great Rivendell road bike in Walnut Creek, which is on the way to Concord and Amy and I stopped at Rivendell. I grew up in Concord, CA so we visited the house I grew up in, the schools I attended and finished at Capriotti's. Amy is opening a Capriotti's in Santa Clara and Concord has the closest Capriotti's to San Jose. It was a real treat to visit and we had a great time hanging out together and with the people we met.

Roseville - Saturday Nov. 14, 2015
When I was at a meeting in Sacramento I went to Roseville, met Ken Compton and visited Railfair where I picked up my Krauss-Maffei. It's been a long time since the last time I saw a Krauss-Maffei in Roseville.

KM on the Cal Central - Saturday Nov. 28, 2015
For the first time in about three decades I "ran" my SP Krauss-Maffei Diesel Hydraulic locomotive. Recently painted and lobotomized by Dan Dahlstrom the locomotive needed more help than I thought. So it is here helped on it's first Cal Central run by an unlikely duo of a GP9E and an MP15-AC.
