Less than a Day Outings
Outings not involving an overnight.

- Susie and I took a day trip to Pajaro Dunes. We were locked down tight due to the Omicron surge. We made a stop at the UP yard at Watsonville Junction in Aromas, CA. And, we caught some Santa Cruz, Big Trees and Pacific Railway (SCBG) CF7s in Watsonville while driving to the beach.

- I spent an afternoon at Diridon Station in San Jose, CA. I took only film cameras, shooting black and white in my F100 and slide film in my Black FM2n.

Trip South
A trip south to a family event.

- On this day I drove from Anaheim to San Diego and back to get some cameras repaired. I shot some surfliner trains on my return.
Trip to Winterail 2022
In Late March 2022, I took a multi-day trip to Oregon to be on the crew for Winterail 2022.

- I left San José and drove to Eugene on this day. On the way north I saw UP power in Martienez and CORP power at Weed, CA on the former SP Siskiyou Line in the shadow of Mount Shasta.
- Friday, March 18, 2022
- I had spent the two nights before at my dear friend Diana's home in Eugene, OR. On this day I started railfanning in Eugene and headed north to Corvallis and Albany, OR in preparation for Winterail 2022. This evening I met my friend Ken Compton and we had dinner and beers together that night. I spent the next three nights in Corvallis.

- I drove home to San José from Eugene on this day. On the way I saw northbound and southbound CORP trains meet and exchange power at Hornbrook, CA on the former SP Siskiyou Line.

- I spent the night before at Klondike, CA. This is a location with lovely morning light. From there I drove home, to San José, CA.
Trip to the northeast

- We spent an hour and a half, or so, watching northeast corridor trains go through Rye, NY.

- We left Rye, NY, in the morning and drove to Scranton. It was a lovely drive through Deleware Water gap. I we got to Scranton in time to tour Steamtown and see ALCos working on the Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad.

- We started this day in Scranton. We went to the Electric City Trolley Museum, and saw ALCos working near Bridge 60 and an excursion train from Steamtown. I scraped the right front fender of the rental car. Later that day we drove to Rhinebeck for the start of family activities.

- We started this day in Kingston, NY where we had been staying. We recovered in the morning then went across the Hudson to Rhinebeck, via Rhinecliff where we shot a couple of Amtrak trains. We spent the next night in Rhinebeck.
