HZGX 173 is a Multi-Purpose Machine (MPM) IX, also referred to as an SW1001m. Reportedly: HZGX 173 was built by EMD in 1973 as an SW1000 builder number 72652-2, Ford 10020. It was rebuilt for Herzog by MPM as 173 in 2003.
