According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, SP 7823 was built in April 1978 by General Electric as a model B30-7, builders number 41881, SP 7823 GE B30-7, SP Class GF430-2.
The disposition of this locomotive is, renumbered to UPY 113, retired Aug. 2003.

- On an unknown date in 1978 SP B30-7 7823 leads an eastbound across the crossing at Antelope, CA during an electrical storm.
Mamiya C33 Camera 80mm f2.8 lens. 45 second exposure on train at f 5.6 to catch motion of lights. Stobonar 780 strobe fired while train was crossing to action and provide ghost train effect. 3 minute subsequent exposure to catch Arcs of gates going up and lightening flashes. According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, SP 7902 was built in Feb. 1968 by General Electric as a model U30C, builders number 36622, SP 7902 GE U30C, SP Class GF630-1.
The disposition of this locomotive is, retired June 1984, scrapped.
- SP 7902 in Planehaven
- SP U30C 7902 and SDP45 3201 power a westbound through Planehaven along Roseville Road, between Sacramento and Roseville, CA on an unknown date in Feb. 1978. WAF said that this train, "looks like a reefer drag to Fresno. WJ reefers drags came through Oakland in the AM usually."

SP 7909 is a GE U30C, SP Class GF630-1. Reportedly: (According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium book series), SP 7909 was built in April 1968 by General Electric as a model U30C, builders number 36629, SP 7909 GE U30C, SP Class GF630-1.
The disposition of this locomotive is, retired June 1984, scrapped.

- On Thursday, August 8, 1974, SP U30C 7909 sits in the power pool at West Oakland, CA. According to WAF, "the other U30C was 7901. This pair brought in the LAOAT (373) that morning and has been turned to go out on the OALAT (374) that evening."

- Southern Pacific (SP) U30C 7918 and SD35 6927 are shoving some cars at the west end of the Roseville Yard in Antelope, CA on Sunday, September 29, 1974.
Two Scans, done at two different times (about 1.5 years apart) of pictures taken moments apart in 1974. One is from a color slide, the other is from a black and white negative.
