SP 3515 EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-6

According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, SP 3515 was built in April 1956 by EMD as a model GP9, builders number 21375, SP 5682, SP Class DF-607.
In 1965 it was renumbered to SP 3515 SP Class EF418-6.
This locomotive was upgraded in Feb. 1975 emerging as SP 3413 EMD GP9R, SP Class EF418E-2.
The disposition of this locomotive is: Retired Feb. 1993 to Levin Metals. Went to the Feather River Rail Society around November 1993. August 1994 went to Arizona Central 3413.
SP 3515 in Bayshore Yard
On an unrecorded date in October 1972 SP GP9 3515 is in Bayshore Yard, San Francisco, CA.

SP 3526 EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-6

According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, SP 3526 was built in April 1956 by EMD as a model GP9, builders number 21386, SP 5693, SP Class DF-607.
In 1965 it was renumbered to SP 3526 SP Class EF418-6.
This locomotive was upgraded in Dec. 1976 emerging as SP 3437 EMD GP9R, SP Class EF418E-2.
The disposition of this locomotive is: May 1985 wrecked in Houston. Sold, presumed scrapped.
SP 3526 in Watsonville Jct.
Southern Pacific GP9 3526 hangs out with a bunch of other geeps in Watsonville Jct., CA on an unknown date in December 1974.

SP 3553 EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-6

According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, SP 3553 was built in May 1956 by EMD as a model GP9, builders number 21415, SP T&NO 431, SP Class DF-607.
In 1965 it was renumbered to SP 3553 SP Class EF418-6.
This locomotive was upgraded in Dec. 1975 emerging as SP 3424 EMD GP9R, SP Class EF418E-2.
The disposition of this locomotive is: Wrecked October 1983 Napa River Bridge. Sold, presumed scrapped.
SP 3553 in Stockton
Southern Pacific 3553, former T&NO 431, leads an SD45 at E. Scotts Ave. in Stockton, CA on an unknown date in November 1972.

SP 3568 EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-7

According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, SP 3568 was built in Dec 1956 by EMD as a model GP9, builders number 22900, SP T&NO 446, SP Class DF-611.
In 1965 it was renumbered to SP 3568 EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-7.
This locomotive was upgraded in December 1974 emerging as SP 3771 EMD GP9R, SP Class EF418E-3.
The disposition of this locomotive is: Retired Nov. 1985, sold Dec. 1987. Presumed scrapped.

Southern Pacific GP9 3568 and SD45T-2 9253 sit at Tracy California the date was not recorded, presumed 1974.

In 1965 it was renumbered to SP 3570 SP Class EF418-7.
This locomotive was upgraded in November 1976 emerging as SP 3794 EMD GP9R, SP Class EF418E-3.
The disposition of this locomotive is: Retired Sept. 1995. Presumed scrapped.

SP 3572 EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-7

According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, SP 3572 was built in January 1957 by EMD as a model GP9, builders number 22913, SP 5731, SP Class DF-611.
In 1965 it was renumbered to SP 3572 SP Class EF418-7.
This locomotive was upgraded in Feb. 1975 emerging as SP 3773 EMD GP9R, SP Class EF418E-3.
The disposition of this locomotive is: Retired Nov. 1991. Became Sierra Pacific Coast Railway, Sierra Northern, 46.
SP 3572 in Tracy, CA
Southern Pacific GP9 3572 is at Tracy, CA on November 10, 1974. OPPRRMS said: "Those of you who are into the horn thing will probably note the replacement P5R24 on the 3572, somewhat unusual on an SP freight Geep as the standard horn was the P3 shown on the 3570. 3572's P5 was well-known for being particularly melodious."

SP 3576 EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-7

This locomotive was upgraded in Dec. 1975 emerging as SP 3783 EMD GP9R, SP Class EF418E-3.
The disposition of this locomotive is: Retired September 1995. Presumed scrapped.
SP 3576 at Stockton Tower
Southern Pacific GP9 3576 leads GP9E 3379 past Stockton Tower in Stockton, CA on November 10, 1974.

SP 3581 EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-7

According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, SP 3581 was built in Feb. 1957 by EMD as a model GP9, builders number 22922, SP 5740, SP Class DF-607.
In 1965 it was renumbered to SP 3581 SP Class EF418-7.
This locomotive was upgraded in September 1975 emerging as SP 3779 EMD GP9R, SP Class EF418E-3.
The disposition of this locomotive is: retired October 1990, sold in August 1992. Became North Coast Railroad Authority 3779.
SP 3581 in Roseville
Southern Pacific GP9s 3581 and 3526 are at the east end of Roseville yard on June 28, 1973.

SP 3589 EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-7

According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, SP 3589 was built in March 1956 by EMD as a model GP9, builders number 22930, SP 5748, SP Class DF-607.
In 1965 it was renumbered to SP 3589 SP Class EF418-7.
In December 1978 it was renumbered to SP 2877 SP Class ES418-7.
The disposition of this locomotive is: Retired Feb 1987. Sold Jan 1988. Aug 1988 rebuilt by Livingston Rebuild Center, Dec 1989 became Yadkin Valley RR 204.
SP 3589 at Stockton Tower
Southern Pacific GP9 3589 leads SD45 9147 across the Santa Fe tracks at Stockton Tower on an unrecorded date in 1973.
