SP 1433 EMD SD7
- 1433 is Roseville
- Southern Pacific (SP) SD7 1433 is at the PFE facility in Roseville, CA on August 6, 1974. According to DaylightGS4 on Trainorders, "If the SD-7 is photographed just at the correct side angle, one can see the vertical steps up to the front deck and back deck of the frame. On the SD-7, the bottom step is all by itself with no pyramid like steps leading to the front and back decks like on the SD-9 or GP-9 models. The straight up approach to the deck was not far removed from climbing into the cab of an F unit. The nice wide step at the bottom was great for the pin puller following the engine all shift long."

- SP 1806, Likely in Roseville
- This photo is from the Ken Rattenne collection. It's likely that I gave him the slide years ago and mislabled it as being in Oakland. I believe this is Roseville, on Tuesday, August 6, 1974, over by the tower near the 211 Shanty. If so, my bad! Ken scanned the slide and posted it with my permission. Thanks Ken!

NOTE: If anything is my "life's work" it's my train photos. — If you scan an analog photo of mine, or if you share a digital photo I took that does not have my photo credit, add something like "Photo by Steve Sloan" directly onto the image. It's not enough to say "Photo by Steve Sloan" in the text caption. People download photos off the Internet/Social Media platform and whatever is in the text does not stick to the photo. Then, they get reshared and that data is lost. I deserve credit for my work.
You may not use my photos for profit and/or as part of, or to sell, a product or service without my consent.
Special Thanks
All the great folks who helped me out with information for these Web pages!
