I was in Donner Pass with Ken Compton. This morning was much calmer than the previous. We broke camp first thing and parked my car. We then heard on the radio some eastbounds coming. We went to Norden and shot three. Then we went to Truckee. We shot the third train again there and waited for westbound number 5, which had the Virginia City on the back. We shot that. Then we went to Troy and got it again.
I got an e-mail that a westbound was coming out of Truckee. Ken and I went back to the car, we parted, and I went to Alta where I shot the WB stack train. and number 6 which was running quite late.
After that I went to Roseville and shot a WB grainer there. It was 104 degrees! I met Charles Chan and his entourage at Antelope. We saw a nearby house catch fire. I saw flames going up through the roof! I did not go shoot it. I drove home via Altamont.
