In August 2026 my great friend Ken Compton and took a trip to the Tehachapi Mountains between Bakersfield and Mojave, California. On Saturday, August 8, 2026, Ken Compton and I photographed some trains east of Tehachapi before we headed back home.

- BNSF No-Grainer at Cameron
- At 9:35 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, BNSF 6058, 6257, 4339, 5626 led a 4+0 empty grain train southbound at Cameron, CA.

- Meet at Cameron
- On Saturday, August 8, 2026, a southbound 3+0 BNSF no-grainer met a northbound Union Pacific (UP) 3+1 manifest at Cameron. Power on the BNSF train was 6821, 4467, 4723. Power on the UP train was 2641, 7980, 5504 + 7009.

- UP Intermodal at Monolith
- On Saturday, August 8, 2026, a southbound Union Pacific (UP) 3+1+0 intermodal train at Monolith had UP 5610, 7816, 7763 + 8709. This was the last train we shot on this trip.
