ALCos at MP JC 375
On Thursday, October 6, 2011, I was chasing trains with my friend and tour guide Otto Vondrak. At about 10:38 a.m., Livonia, Avon and Lakeville (LAL) 428 and 425 were passing milpost JC 375, denoting the distance from the Erie Railroad's old terminal in Jersey City. Rochester, NY

LAL 428 & 425, ALCo C425s

ALCos behind the dorms
On Thursday, October 6, 2011, I was chasing trains with my friend and tour guide Otto Vondrak. At about 10:55 a.m., Livonia, Avon and Lakeville (LAL) 428 and 425 were passing behind The Province, Student Living at the Rochester Institute of Technology, in Rochester, NY.
On March 13, 2024 Otto added: "Additional details: This is approaching Mortimer Junction, where the Erie and LV crossed the NYC West Shore. In 1979, Conrail built a new connecting track that swung off the Erie alignment and connected to the LV branch, which then swung parallel to the NYC West Shore so locals could access the small yard at Genesee Junction (Erie and LV tracks used to continue north to downtown Rochester, but that small yard was abandoned in favor of Genesee Junction). So this northbound LAL train is swinging onto that connector track."

NOTE: If anything is my "life's work" it's my train photos. — If you scan an analog photo of mine, or if you share a digital photo I took that does not have my photo credit, add something like "Photo by Steve Sloan" directly onto the image. It's not enough to say "Photo by Steve Sloan" in the text caption. People download photos off the Internet/Social Media platform and whatever is in the text does not stick to the photo. Then, they get reshared and that data is lost. I deserve credit for my work.
