This year both Susie and I are retired and living in San Jose.
Day Trip Outings
Trips or outings not involving an overnight.
- March 1, 2021, Monday
- On Monday, March 1, 2021, I went to Alviso and the Coyote Valley in San José, CA, chasing the Talgo Scrap Train.
Trip south April 13 - 19, 2021
My first Road Trip since Covid. On Tuesday April 13, 2021, I left San Jose and drove south. I photographed trains on the way down and stayed the night in Victorville. The next day I went to Cajon Pass. Lower Cajon had fog so I concentrated on upper Cajon around Victorville and Hesperia. That night I went to Barstow where I met my friend Ken Compton. We spent the next few days in Barstow and out on the Needles Subdivision on the BNSF.

- On Tuesday, April 13, 2021, I left San Jose and drove south. I photographed trains on the way down and stayed the night in Victorville.

- On Wednesday, April 14, 2021, I started my day in Victorville.
- Thursday, April 15, 2021
- On Thursday, April 15, 2021, Ken Compton and I went out on the Needles Subdivision on the BNSF. Then, Ken's vehicle broke down and we had to go back to Barstow.
- Friday, April 16, 2021
- We started the day in Barstow with Ken's vehicle in the shop. All of our stuff was piled in my truck. We went back into the desert. We camped at Klondike.
- Saturday, April 17, 2021
- This morning started at Klondike. This day we went east into the BNSF Railway's Needles Subdivision.
San Francisco Getaway, July 20-22, 2021
Susie and I did an overnight getaway to San Francisco that invilved photographing the Muni.

- On Thursday, July 28, 2021, I spent the afternoon at San Jose Diridon Station which was on a holiday schedule, this being the day after Thanksgiving, 2021.

- On Wednesday, December 8, 2021, I spent the afternoon at San Jose Diridon Station with grandson Sol.
