UPY 1000, EMD EMD24B "GP22T4"

UPY 1000 is an EMD EMD24B "GP22T4" Reportedly: It was built by EMD as GP38-2 MP 2135 in 1976, builder number 766004-3. It was renumbered UP 635 before being rebuilt as an EMD24B.

UP 1005 EMD/GMLG GP60

According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, UP 1005 was built in September 1989 by General Motors Locomotive Group, Canada as a model EMD GP60, builders number 886024-17, SSW 9652, SP Class EF438C-2.
This locomotive was assigned the number UP 1954, but never wore that number, it was patched as UP 1005.

On June 29, 2014 Union Pacific 1005 patched former Southern Pacific SSW 9652 is east of the engine shops in Roseville, CA.

UP 1068 EMD/GMLG GP60

UP 1068 is a GP60. Reportedly: UP 1068 was built by EMD/GMLG in 1990 as SSW 9678, builders number 896003-14, SP Class EF438C-3, becoming UP 1983 in March 2003, later renumbered to UP 1068.

On Thursday, Thursday August 17, 2017, at 7:21 p.m., Union Pacific Railroad Company (UP) GP60s 1068 (SSW) and 1096 are at Panorama and Locust Rd. in Redding, CA.

UP 1081, EMD GP60

UP 1081 is an EMD GP60. Reportedly: UP 1081 was built by EMD in 1990 as DRGW 3155 builder number 896043-2. It became UP 1901. Then it became UP 1081.

UP 1092, EMD GP60

UP 1092 is an EMD GP60. Reportedly: UP 1092 was built by GMLG in 1993 as SP 9781 builder number 936428-12, SP Class EF438-3. It became UP 1092. Other UP numbers reportedly assigned to this unit before reportedly include 5880 and 2080.

UP 1094, EMD/GMLG GP60

According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, UP 1094 was built in 1991 by EMD/GMLG as a model GP60, SP 9742, SP Class EF438-2, builder's number 907137-28.
This locomotive first became UP 2041 then it became UP 1094.

UP 1095, EMD/GMLG GP60

According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, UP 1095 was built in 1988 by GMLG as a model GP60, SSW 9629, SP Class EF438C-1, builder's number 876054-10. It became UP 1931 then UP 1095.

UP 1096, EMD/GMLG GP60

According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, UP 1096 was built in 1993 by GMLG as a model GP60, SP 9780, SP Class EF438-3, builder's number 936428-11. It became UP 2079 then UP 1096.

UP 1131, EMD/GMLG GP60

According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, UP 1131 was built in Feb. 1988 by General Motors Locomotive Group, Canada as a model EMD GP60, builders number 866185-06, SP 9606, SP Class EF438-1. It was renumered UP 1910 then UP 1131.

UP 1207, EMD GP39-2

UP 1207 is an EMD GP39-2. Reportedly: UP 1207 was built by EMD in 1977 as KCCX 788 builder number 766028-10. It became MKT 387, then UP 2357 and then UP 1207. These locomotives were equipped with extra height cabs (26 inches) for improved visibility in the Bingham open pit copper mine. When leased by MKT the locomotives were brought up to operable condition and FRA standards, including lowering the extra height cabs; work was performed by National Railway Equipment at a leased facility in Clearfield, Utah, in 1984. The entire cab was lowered for the lease to MKT by removing the 26 inches of extra height, but because the actual cab roof was then too low, a four-inch hump was added to allow clearance to open the cab interior electrical cabinet doors.

UP 1215, EMD GP39-2

This locomotive is a late GP39-2 built in April 1984 as MKT 368. It is EMD builders number 837058-7

UP 1234, EMD/UP SW10

According to good sources, UP 1234 was built in Sept. 1951 by EMD as a model TR5A, builders number 15070, UP 1872.
This locomotive was upgraded in June 1982 emerging as SW10 UP 1234.
The disposition of this locomotive is, retired July 1998 and sold to Coast Rail Services.

UP 1447 EMD GP40-2, former D&RGW 3095

According to good sources UP 1447 was built in April 1972 by EMD as a model GP40-2, builders number 7360-02, D&RGW 3095. D&RGW 3095 was renumbered to UP 5347 in May 1997 then renumbered to UP 1447 in July 2005, in the 1445-1448 series.

UP 1448 EMD GP40-2, former D&RGW 3101

UP 1448 is an EMD GP40-2. Reportedly: UP 1448 was built in 1972 by EMD as a model GP40-2, builders number 7360-8, D&RGW 3101. D&RGW 3101 was renumbered to UP 1448, in the 1445-1448 series.

UP 1450 EMD GP40-2, former SP 7661

According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, UP 1450 was built in Mar 1980 by EMD as a model GP40-2, builders number 786266-4, Southern Pacific 7661, SP Class EF430-3. In Oct 2002 it was renumbered to UP 1450, in the 1449-1452 series.

According to Evan Werkema, "UP's Tracy switcher coming off the spur that used to serve Holly Sugar (the spur still has a few customers south of 205). UP's switcher serves most of the remaining rail-served industries in the Tracy area, including customers on the remaining stub of the SP main line toward Altamont Pass and on spurs off the ex-WP main at Carbona and behind the Tracy ACE station. So far as I know, the first customer Cal Northern serves is south of Lyoth."

According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, Southern Pacific 7676 was built in Mar 1980 by EMD as a model GP40-2, builders number 786266-19, SP 7676 SP Class EF430-3. In June 2003 it was renumbered to UP 1451, in the 1449-1452 series.

UP 1516, former SP EMD GP40M-2 (GP40R)

UP 1092 is an EMD GP40M-2 (GP40R). Reportedly: Reportedly: UP 1516 was built by EMD in 1969 as a GP40 SCL 1575 builder number 35088. It was rebuilt by MK becoming SP 7138, SP Class EF430K-1. It then became UP 1516.

UP 1983 (WP), EMD SD70ACe, from UP series 8309-8783

UP 1983 is an EMD SD70ACe from UP series 8309-8783. Reportedly: UP 1983 was built in 2005 by EMD as a model SD70ACe, builders number 20046610-075, as UP 8383, from UP series 8309-8783. Unit was delivered in primer paint. In 2005 it was repainted in heritage paint and numbered to UP 1983 (WP).

According to good sources UP 1989 was built in May 2006 by EMD as a model SD70ACe delivered in primer paint as UP 8521, builders number 20056753-001, UP model designation SD70ACe, from UP series 8309-8783. It was quickly repainted and renumbered as UP 1989, the D&RGW heritage unit.

UP 1995 (C&NW), EMD SD70ACe, from UP series 8309-8783

According to good sources UP 1995 was built in May 2006 by EMD as a model SD70ACe delivered in primer paint as UP 8522, builders number 20056753-002, UP model designation SD70ACe, from UP series 8309-8783. It was quickly repainted and renumbered as UP 1995, the C&NW heritage unit.

On March 27, 2009 the Union Pacific ran a special passenger train they called the SLBOA1-27 up the old Southern Pacific coast line. C&NW Commemorative EMD SD70ACe UP 1995 led the train through Alviso, CA at 3:56 p.m. headed north.
