UP 4012 is an ALCo 4-8-8-4 Big Boy. Reportedly: UP 4012 was built in 1941 by ALCo as a 4-8-8-4 "Big Boy", builders number 69583, UP 4012, UP Class 4884-1.
Reportedly: The disposition of this locomotive is, last run 1962. It was cosmetically restored at Steamtown National Historic Site Scranton, PA.

The disposition of this locomotive is, last revenue run 1959, retired 1962, restored 2019.

UP 4415 is leading the ZCSLT with locomotives 4565 and 4111 at 1:25 p.m. on August 14, 2010. It was neat seeing an all SD70M consist, at Troy on the UP Roseville Subdivision (Donner line).

UP 4590 is a SD70M. Reportedly: UP 4590 was built in 2001 by EMD as UP 4590 serial number 996168-60.
UP on lead of BNSF Train
One of my first pictures taken with a digital camera, taken with a digital point and shoot — Union Pacific (UP) 4590 is on the point of a BNSF train sitting in Hauser, Idaho east of Spokane, WA on an unrecorded date in March 2004. The set is UP 4590, BNSF 8202, 9549, 8259. All these locomotives are very similar in design but each is painted differently.

  • Union Pacific SD70M 4905 leads 7078 and 4488 on an empty ore train under the signal bridge located at milepost 377, north of Mojave, CA. It is 10:40 am on May 6, 2012. The 7078 was dead and had hood doors flapping in the wind.
